QUOTED FROM AM980 Not only are gas prices as high as they've been all year in London, they're now approaching record territory. That's almost more expensive than the all-time local high of $1.37 per litre. When we were paying those prices in September of 2008, oil was selling for $146 a barrel. Almost three years later, gas prices have returned to near record levels while crude has plummeted. Oil was trading at just under $108 a barrel early Friday. This time last year, most London stations were charging 99 cents a litre for regular. That's what drivers in most parts of Michigan are paying right now. Well, summer is slow approaching. And when I mean slowly, I mean as slow as molasses.
The last few days we've been in the plus (+) temperature range, about 10-13 degrees celsius, so today I thought I'd take my baby out for a quick spin. I ran a couple of errands and got a bunch of thumbs up by random people along the way (I know, I'm awesome!) haha For anyone that has a bike getting the itch, be careful. There are lots of road hazards out this early into the season. ie. cold tires, wet roads, lots of sand, debris, and stupid drivers that aren't aware that bikes will be back on the road soon. Also, as a reminder, before jumping on your bike and taking it for your first season spin, do a quick check. Tire pressure, chain tension, battery stability, and check for any fluid leakage under the bike. Other than that, have fun and keep the rubber side down. And no I didn't vandalize a Porsche to do it. Porsche has a Facebook fan page, and part of that meant if you "liked" the status they had posted a while back, you had the chance of getting your name put on a 911 GT3 R Hybrid where it will sit in the Porsche museum forever. How sick is that!? So my name is one of a million on the car, however... I can't find it. Seriously, how am I supposed to find my name amongst 999,999 others on this thing? I hope to one day find it... and if at all possible, take a trip to Germany and have my picture taken next to it. Check out the website: http://www.porsche.com/microsite/facebook/international.aspx |
